It is official. Keaten Zachary Wilkin has arrived. He arrived at 1:30 AM today at 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 21 inches long at Riverside Methodist Hospital. To put that in perspective, that is one pound less than Brianne (who went to 41 weeks) and the same length.
Nurse Jenni already gave our little guy his first nick-name, "Eaten Keaten", as this guy has the munchies. However, I think I may change it to "Sleepin' Keaten" as he sure likes to sleep too! (lucky us)
Brianne hasn't had the opportunity to fully take him in yet. We did a brief encounter, but she was busy giving Mommy the cold-shoulder for leaving her and then sacked out on the sofa in the hospital. Maybe when she wakes up she will be more receptive.
Mommy and Baby are doing great. Having snuggle time (which is making Daddy jealous -- Mommy is such a baby hog!), he likes to sleep on her, and who can really blame him. Daddy is doing well too (apart from his broken toe majorly bothering him these last couple of days). He got maybe 3 hours sleep so far over the past 2 days, and Mommy is running on 2 hours. Hopefully some down time will be coming for all of us.
So enough of the details, let's get some pictures:
** UPDATE**
After her nap and a walk over the entire hospital, Brianne came back
and was ahhing an oohing over the baby. Looks like the nap saved the
day and the cold shoulder has been remedied.
Love,
Matt, Kami, Brianne, and Keaten
