Man o' Man, where did the time go? I can't believe two months have flown by already and the latest thing we have announced was "We are Home!". How is that possible?
On June 18th we had our 2 month checkup for Keaten. He weighed 11 pounds 3 ounces and is 23 3/4 inches long. He is in the 35 percentile on weight and the 70th for height.
He has been cooing and baby talking to us for a few weeks now and is starting to be a lot more obvious on when he wants to eat by placing his hand near his mouth. He has been sleeping for nearly 6 to 9 hours a night, only waking up once (typically after 6 straight hours of sleep) in his room with Brianne.
Both he and Brianne get up between 5:00 and 6:00 AM depending on whether or not they want to let Mommy and Daddy sleep in. But I guess we should be thankful that they are at least on the same schedule and not two different schedules.
Naps are becoming a bit of a past time anymore for Mr. Keaten, which is unfortunate (as there are many days that Mommy wishes he would nap). But I guess he just wants to be like his big sister and not take any or only take short cat naps.
Over the past few weeks he has been watching his sister immensely and likes to give big smiles to her when she talks to him, holds him, kisses him, or says "I love you" to him. You can just see his little mind whirling and taking in everything she does so he can quickly figure out how to do it himself in as short of time as possible.
To put that into perspective, you should see how well this kid can hold his head up, tries to sit up, and will gladly extend his legs with force as if trying to stand while you hold him. He is just learning things way too fast for us to even keep up. Before our next blog post, this kid could be walking and will likely be crawling :-P.
He and his sister typically play on their playmate daily. It is designed for infants and Brianne never really cared for it when she was little, but now that he plays on it routinely, she decided, she needs to as well.
Apart from a cold over the past week (off and on), he has been as healthy as can be. His sister on the other hand, has had many things going on that you'll just have to wait till our next blog post on her to hear about (for example, she had a concussion -- bet you can't wait to hear about that now, can you?).
And of course we know you are expecting/wanting pictures, so hopefully this will satisfy your appetite :)
Love,
Matt, Kami, Brianne, and Keaten
