This last month it has become apparent that our son was growing more and more attached to his pacifiers. In fact, too attached. So we started taking them away except for nap time and bed time. It didn't take long to find out our son had lots to say, the cooing and ahhing has grown ten fold. Plus now we are using the words "Da Da" and "Ma Ma" much more frequently, which is wonderful! He is a non-stop talker when in the living room with us, sometimes more so than Brianne.
We have also started to wave and are signing bottle (or at least his own version of bottle). When we see him signing or waving he just smiles, laughs, or giggles at his accomplishment. It is very cute.
Then there is Daddy, Daddy is our new fascination. When I get home, Keaten requires me to pick him up, otherwise, he will follow me around the apartment until I do. Then we must play, followed by tickling, swinging, being held upside down, etc. Once that is complete, we can have a bottle and some snacks, followed by more playing and holding. Eventually we are tired and ready to go to bed (yes, both of us!). It truly is a blessing and a blast for me as much as it is for him.
Keaten is also trying to walk. He is sporadically taking one or two unassisted steps, be it between objects (the fence and the couch) or between Mommy and I. Believe it or not, we have been encouraging him to start walking, as we think it will be hilariousness when he starts chasing after his sister! Plus, I can't wait to hear of all of the tales Mommy has once they are both running around the house. I can only imagine some of the stories that may come from that.
Orneriness is also in full swing as we have learned how to flush the toilet and unroll the toilet paper. Thankfully, we have not figured out how to put the toilet paper in the toilet before flushing it! That little boy will just quietly disappear to the bathroom, then you hear the toilet flush and giggling soon follows giving him away. He is such a stinker, and obviously we have been saying that a bit too often as Brianne now occasionally refers to him as "stinky butt".
Last but not least, Keaten's first Valentine's Day. Mommy struggled with trying to figure out what to get her little man, after all, Daddy has it easy, girls love flowers. Mommy got him Num Num crackers. She thinks that in the future his special gift will be one on one time with mommy and going to get a special treat.
We hope to see Keaten striding across the room this next month (or at least by his birthday), but we are also perfectly okay if he doesn't too. With that we end another month with a slew of pictures for you to enjoy.
Love,
Matt, Kami, Brianne and Keaten
