First Dentist Appointment

Keaten had his first dentist appointment last week and did AWESOME! He sat in the chair and let them count his teeth and then apply fluoride to them. Lets just say, this was far better than Brianne's first experience, and she has to visit the dentist again this week!

Apart from venturing to the dentist during his one on one time with Mommy, this little by has been getting spoiled with lunch dates! The last lunch date was at Panera where he downed the brocolli and cheddar soup. I guess Mommy and Auntie Lora didn't get any... as he wasn't sharing.

About a month ago, we decided to have pizza one Friday evening and as a "change" we opted to have it as a picnic in the Living Room (laid out a huge table cloth and got our plates and all sat down and to enjoy the meal). Now everytime we have pizza our kids automatically think "picnic", and so they go get a table cloth, lay it out and sit down just waiting for the pizza to be done. Talk about CUTE!

This past weekend we went to the zoo with Grandma and Papa, and boy oh boy did we have fun! We decided to show the "Heart of Africa" exhibit to them, as it was a new area, and as we were making our way back to the front of the exhibit, we were treated to a "Cheetah Run" watching. Yes, that is exactly what it sounds like, there was an host who talked about a few of the African animals and then they sent out one of the cheetahs to chase a ball on a string and "Wow", it was exciting!

Keaten had a blast, he helped Mommy push an empty wagon... ran from exhibit to exhibit. He loves watching the turtles and was astounded when one of the turles in the reptile house (the biggest one), actually moved! Now a bit of background, everytime you visit this exhibit, this turtle is ALWAYS in the same position. Under a log, in the water with its mouth wide open. It rarely moves. You could sit there and watch it for 5, 10, 30 minutes and you will swear up and down it is a concrete statue that is there for decor. Then something crazy happens. It moves, it closes its mouth, swims in a circle and goes right back into its prior position to fool everyone else!

Keaten has been really into Mighty Machines lately, a show on Netflix where they introduce you to a variety of machinery as if they are real characters using voice-overs to tell you about the machine and what its purpose is in everyday life. From ferries, to mine scrapers, to dump trucks, and aircraft, they cover it all. This kid will sit and watch it for hours on end (if we'd let him). It has been his go-to show for a few weeks now.

Speaking of machines, this boy loves trucks! When he spots a semi-truck (or 18-wheeler), he just gets excited and repeatedly points his finger yelling "look, look", next Touch a Truck, we'll be sure to let him get inside one of those vehicles.

One Keaten's favorite things to do recently is to mimick his sister. If she starts to count, he'll count to. If she starts to sing, so will he. If she is putting a headband in her hair, he'll find one and put it in his hair too.

This little boy definitely has the 2 year old attitude down. From yelling "No", or "Mine", or just being down right cranky, he's got it down. Just tonight, he was sitting on the couch, on the left side (this is important), and then decided to get down to watch his Mighty Machines on the floor. Mommy slid over to his spot on the couch and he saw it, and started yelling "Mine!" At first Mommy and Daddy were confused... we had no idea what he yelling "Mine" for. So we didn't adjust anything, once it looked like Mommy was getting comfortable, he got up, ran over the couch and told her "Mine!" She stood up and he quickly jumped onto the couch, back to his rightful place and Mommy and Daddy when "ah ha! that's what he was mad about..."

Well that is another month gone by and to hold you till the next blog post take a look at the following pictures.

Love,
Matt, Kami, Brianne and Keaten
