Three and Potty Trained!

Can you believe Keaten turned 3 this year!? I can't. It feels like just a month ago we brought him home from the hospital, he'd lay our on laps and take a nap or a bottle, and now he's three. He walks, he talks, he annoys his sister, he sings, he climbs stairs, and he wears big boy underwear.

Did you catch that last one? Yep, he's officially potty trained. Part of his potty training rewards were stickers, cars, and york peppermint patties. Surprisingly, the mix between them all somehow worked. It took us a couple of weeks, but he had the basics down after a few days and now we're fairly confident in calling him 100% certified potty trained (hmm... maybe we should create a certificate or a degree...). We couldn't be prouder right now knowing that the end of diapers is just around the corner. What a wonderful feeling that is!

Just like his sister, Keaten has found a new love. A love for playing in the swimming pool! This kid loves to splash, throw water, flop on his butt, and so forth. To say he loves the water would be an understatement. Of course, this kid also loves the new sand box. And I've already established that the sand box is the arch-nemesis of the swimming pool, thankfully he hasn't tried the mix the two yet.

Keaten has had the opportunity to enjoy the play dates we've had with Brianne's Pre-K class friends. From the grill out we had a few weeks ago at our place to having Easter lunch with one of Brianne's BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) friends. The kids had a blast playing, then eating, then playing again. The Easter lunch was followed by an Easter egg hunt that Keaten throughly enjoyed and we've got plenty more play dates scheduled in the days to come that will surely keep them entertained and happy.

Keaten also got to visit a lot of friends and family over the Memorial Day weekend. From graduation parties, to seeing where Mommy and Daddy went to college, visit Grandparents and Great Grandparents, it was a fun filled packed weekend. He had a blast swimming in the hotel pool, jumping on the trampoline at Uncle Chuck's and even got to be in the same Sunday School class that Brianne was in because he was POTTY TRAINED! It was a blast and he had a lot of fun and looks forward to the next time we get to do it again.

Oh and let's not forget the introduction of Keaten's newest cousin, Judah, on April 7th. Keaten was excited to go up and see him.

Last but definitely not least, our little boy must love having his hair cut short (not sure where he gets that from!). He asked Mommy to take him for a hair cut for 2 full weeks! 2 weeks!! Seriously dude!, Let those curls grow back, they were so darn cute when you were smaller. Sigh, maybe it just isn't meant to be. :(

Well, I'll try not to let time fly by as quickly as it did this time between updates. Until the next update, enjoy the following photos.

Love,
Matthew, Kami, Brianne and Keaten
